Didn't think that would happen

So I was scraping ice from my window trying to get it open. I was using my scissors. I hear a tiny *snap*, and the end of my heavy metal scissors breaks off. Lovely.

This has surprisingly upset me. Will my scissors still work with a bit of the sharp end gone?
